Travel Smart! Here’s The List Of Things You Shouldn’t Do In Other Countries

Here’s a list of things you SHOULD know when you travel to other countries.

Pro tip: You should do your homework before you go travelling. What sort of homework? Let me enlighten you with the easiest one, which is learning what NOT to do in other countries!

You wouldn’t want to get caught doing something in another country just because you didn’t know it was illegal, right?

1. Don’t step on money in Thailand.

Why? If you look at the bank notes, there’s actually the king’s face on it. Need no further explanation, it’s a simple gesture of respect to the royal family in Thailand.

2. Don’t finish your plate in China.

Bad news for foodies when you travel to China- don’t finish your food ‘till the last crumb! It’s considered impolite as if the host didn’t prepare enough food for you.

3. Don’t order white coffee after breakfast in Italy.

Weird how coffee can be an issue too, right? It’s specifically the ones containing milk like cappuccino. According to Traveleisure, milk should never be drunk after a meal for Italians, as it is said to ruin the digestion.

4. You can’t buy chewing gum in Singapore.

This rule isn’t something new for me. Honestly, I’ve encountered this situation a few years back when a pack of chewing gum I had with me was confiscated by the immigration officer in Singapore.

You can be punished for up to 1000 Singapore Dollar if you buy or sell chewing gum, its considered illegal because of hygienic matters.

5. No high heels in Greece.

Hold up, don’t flip yet! The reason why you can’t wear heels in Greece is because it damages the monuments. It’s okay, traveling will be comfier when you walk in flats, I’ll assure you that.

I know for a fact that we can’t travel to other countries yet due to this pandemic. But if you already have plans, doing a lot of reading about another country won’t hurt.

Always travel smart!
