Here’s the thing- dyeing your hair at hair-salons are COSTLY! I swear to God, it costs hundreds of Ringgit here in Malaysia. Where’s my young and broke homies? I’m trying to save you here.
So today, I’ll spare you guys a few tips that I find useful for you to try and dye your hair at home. Yes, YOU are your own hair stylist. Oh it’s on like donkey kong!
1. Select the most appropriate shade.

You don’t want to go overboard with extravagant colours you’ve picked for your hair. Pick a colour that you’re comfortable with.

2. Preparing the right tools.

I guess some people just want to have fun and be messy when they dye their hair at home. Hate to break it to you but it’s always better to use a bowl and a brush like how real salon colourists do. It’s for the greater good, trust me.
3. Start dyeing at the roots.

Why? It’s because the roots are the spots where regrowth occurs first. Less damage happens at the roots as well.
4. Having extra mirrors.
I’ve always loved all the big mirrors that hair-parlours always have as I can get a full view of myself. Wow, that sounds so narcissistic.
Besides my narcissistic-self, having an extra mirror helps you to get a better angles of your hair, especially the back.
5. Buy two boxes of hair dye.
According to Good Housekeeping, two is better than one. You’ll hate it when you’re halfway through and suddenly running out of dye.
