Travelling Solo: What to Bring? (Girls Edition)

A list of must-bring items, essential for girls when they travel alone.

Travelling alone will always be therapeutic, if you were to live on a daily basis where meeting people is a routine.

So today, we will share with all of Maduners, especially the girls regarding a few items that you have to bring when you travel alone.

1. Sanitary Pads

I swear, sanitary pads are a NEED. I’m saying this because our menstrual phase can come in the most unexpected times.

Once, my period came 2 weeks earlier than scheduled, and that’s when I realized how important having emergency sanitary pads are, especially during travelling.

2. Flip-flops / Foldable Flats

Girls will always try to look their best when they travel, even if it’s part of risking their comfort. This can sum up how some girls will literally wear their high-heels when they travel.

So here’s a tip, bring flip-flops or any flats you have when you travel. Don’t torture yourself in wearing footwear that can cause you pain and discomfort.

3. Pepper Spray

This is one of the most important things to bring, as a protection when you’re travelling alone. I know for a fact that not all girls are blessed with super strength to fight a perpetrator. This is when pepper sprays come in handy.

4. Empty Water Bottle

Sometimes an empty water bottle can be a life saver, either to be used for drinking water or also for cleaning purposes.

In Malaysia, we have bidets in public toilets but somehow not all toilets provide it for your comfort. This is when the water bottle becomes a good substitute to it.

5. Hand Sanitizer

As this era of Covid-19 comes along in our lives, we can’t trust anything. Nothing is clean enough, nothing is safe enough. So in order for Maduners to be more cautious during travelling, it’s best if sanitizing your hands becomes a habit.

So, what are you waiting for? Let’s explore the world!
